MEETING MINUTES
February 5, 2010
(amended at March
1, 2010 meeting)
At 7:00 pm, the meeting was called to order by the Director with the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Our Director,
Captain Sundance recognized “T.B” as our guest for this evening. He
reminded us to make plans for Trike Week that takes place in June.
Read more about it in the Trike Week magazine. It will be a blast.
There will be Trikers and Vendors from all over the world. Director
encouraged us to buy some BTW patches and T-shirts.
Director handed over the meeting to Jim,
Assistant Director, for the STAFF OFFICER Reports:
Secretary
(Cheryle) Deferred Minutes to be read at next month’s meeting. Motion
made and accepted.
Treasurer
(Patricia)
gave the report for January’s ending balance. Motion made and
accepted.
Webmistress
(Gail) gave her progress report on the chapter’s new website, “TXGulfcoast.org”.
All the minutes were uploaded and Gail emphasized to send Photos;
(Members only section is still in progress to include member info;
Calendar is in progress to include Events, possibly member’s birthday;
Chat bulletin board as Members’ only section will be password
protected) Any information or ideas, please pass on to the
Webmistress, Gail Waldrep.
Gail also worked on a binder of Rides & Directions that could be
included on our website. Also, to get to our website you can also go
to the Main BTW homepage and look under the LINKS on the BTW site or
the LINK under Captain Sundance name under Texas.
Chaplain
(James Ballard) Suggested if we have a
loss of a loved one to let Gail post it on the Web page. Patricia had
a prayer request for her grandson.
Road Captain Report:
Jim Waldrep & Gail put together a binder of several interesting road
trips. Captain Sundance gave the report:
2/6 Meet at Noah’s and go to the Eagles for a fundraiser –
leave at 12:00;
2/7/10
Big Mikes at Spencer and Luela in Deer Park. Leave at 12:00 – There
will be a New category for Trikes.( Approx. 30-minute ride). (Cost of
$20 to enter.)
2/13/10
Angleton Harley Davidson Blood drive;
2/20/10
Pearland Benefit. Sundance will call everyone with more details.
3/6/20
Think about Hog Run in Angleton…BBQ…then leave and possible tour thru
Surfside on to Galveston.

Report
Meeting turned back to Director. He thanked everyone who came to the
Christmas Party and his Birthday party.
OLD Business:

Gail and
Shirley went over the Chapter’s Treasurer records and announced all
accounts balanced.

Gail our
webmistress responded she was having problems with the emblem printing
for the business card.
Action item:
taken by Director to find out the cost of printing. 4-color printing
for 500 = 69.95; for 1000 business cards = 79.95…continued
action item – table this until next meeting so Mike could print
it out and send it out or place it on the website. Question asked if
there was a space to write in individual’s name. Answer; Yes.
NEW Business:
2 volunteers are required to audit the Treasurer’s books. (Gail and
Shirley volunteered to go over the books after the meeting is
adjourned.)
Old business:
The books on Profit & Non-profit will be reported at next meeting.

NEW Business:

Check into the
Galveston Mardi Gras parade events and sign up to have our group ride
in the parade for next year. No one took the Action at this time.

Orange Group
wants to share rides. For instance, Around the Bay on a dry day…approx
140-mile trip. To be discussed further.
Director introduced our Guests T.B. along with Sam and Rosemary from
Alvin , to have them introduce themselves and their interests.

MEETING
MINUTES January 1, 2010

At 7:00 pm, Texas Gulf Coast Brothers of the Third Wheel started their
first meeting of 2010 was called to order by the Director with the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Our Director,
Captain Sundance recognized “Chief” as our guest for this evening. He
reminded us to make plans; if at all possible, for Trike Week that
takes place in June. Read more about it in the Trike Week magazine. It
will be a blast. There will be Trikers and Vendors from all over the
world. The Morgans, who own the Cheetah, will be going, so let’s make
plans and all try to go as a group.
Captain wanted to thank everyone for the donations made that went to a
local charity called the “Lighthouse Ministries” who help local
individuals and their families all throughout the year. The picture of
the donation made will be in the Trike Week magazine.
Also, the Director recapped last month’s activities. (that included
the Toys for Tots Fundraiser, Our Christmas Party at the Director’s
home – thank you for all of Gail’s help; Another party at the Moll’s
home;
The Director noted we had 2 new staff officers; the Chaplain
(James Ballard) and the Sergeant of
Arms (Ken Morgan).
Director wanted everyone to think about who would like to volunteer as
our chapter’s “Activity Director”, who will help organize and contact
everyone to assist in the activities.
Director handed over
the meeting to Ron Shipper, Acting Assistant Director for the STAFF
OFFICER Reports:
Secretary
(Cheryle) Read the December meeting
minutes. Motion made to accept minutes as read. Minutes were accepted.
Treasurer
(Patricia)
gave the report for October (487.39), November (602.39) months. In
December, $100 was given to the Lighthouse Ministries, leaving the
chapter’s account with an ending balance of $502.39. Motion made and
second to accept the Treasurer report. The report was accepted.
Webmistress
(Gail) requested a check for the monies spent to register the domain
name “TXGulfcoast.org” for 5 years as advised by
Lady BTW
International Jim. Explained items on website and future
sections to be added to the website. (Photos sent will carry the
title given onto the website – so think about how you name the photo;
Members only section to be built to include member info; Calendar to
be built to include Events, possibly member’s birthday; Chat bulletin
board as password protected) Any information or ideas, please pass
on to the Webmistress, Gail Waldrep.
Action Item:
Requested Secretary to re-send the Chapter By-Laws and November 2009
meeting minutes to be added to the website.
Road Captain
(not present)
Captain Sundance gave the report:
1/2/10
Send Off by the Patriot Guard for Kyle Quinn going back for another
tour; 1/2/10 Bike Night 6:30 to 9:30; 1/9/10 Benefit for
the Down Brothers; 1/17/10 Big Mikes Benefit for the Down
Brothers; 2/7/10 Big Mike’s again for a Bike Show 12 to 5 –
Director would like for all of us to show interest so they would
create a special division for Trikes. Pre-registration is $20 or $25
late entry.
Chaplain
(James) Introduced himself as our
Chaplain. Gave thanks for this opportunity and prayed for better
health, strength and wisdom for the coming year. Also, announced that
on May 13th, his wife, Dianne, and him will have been
together for 30 years. Congratulations were conveyed.
Sargeant of Arms
(Ken) introduced himself as Captain Morgan and his wife as First Mate
(Shirley Morgan). They are also members of “Bikers Against Child
Abuse”.

Report
Meeting turned back to Director who requested if there were any
volunteers to accept the “Activity Director” Position. Shirley and
Diana will co-chair the position.
